Carbogol
Reduces gas, bloating and feeling of heaviness . Each capsule contains: Activated charcoal, Star anise, Caraway, Cumin, Fennel, Peppermint, Chamomile, Lemon balm, Marjoran. Active vegetable charcoal, fennel(anethole, estragol, limonene), chamomile (flavonoids, bisabolol, chamazulene) , peppermint (menthol, minthon, apigenin), cumin(limonene, caravon), caraway (cumin aldehyde, gamma terpene), lemon balm (citral, geranial), star anise (limonene, anethole) and marjorn (flavonoids, luteolin) .
Mechanism of effect
The plant extract and active charcoal used in Carbogol formulation are all effective in gastrointestinal disorders. Active vegetable charcoal and fennel extract promote the absorption and elimination of gastrointestinal gas. Star anise, caraway and cumin are used to help improve digestive function. Peppermint oil is an aromatic carminative that relaxes gastrointestinal smooth muscle and relieves flatulence and colic, also relieves the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (3). Menthol, the major constituent of peppermint oil, has properties similar to those of calcium – channel blockers on smooth muscle such as those in human gut. Caraway oil is an aromatic carminative and is used in gastrointestinal disorders(4). Fennel is carminative and spasmolytic as well .Chamomile is stated to possess carminative, anti spasmodic, anti inflammatory properties. German commission E has approved usage for gastrointestinal tract and mucous membrane inflammation (3,4) . The combination of these plant extracts along with active charcoal in carbogol formulation synergistically potentiates the antiflatulent and antispasmodic effects of this product.

Points of recommendation
This product is not recommended for sensitive people to herbal drugs. The active charcoal may adsorb drugs in the stomach, therefore, use other medications 2 hours before or after taking carbogol.
