Calshake


A powdered supplement containing protein (milk protein), fat (vegetable oil) and carbohydrate.
Gluten free.
Calshake® is intended for the dietary management of patients with increased energy requirements e.g. patients with cystic fibrosis, cancer or HIV/AIDS.
Calshake® is prescribable on FP10/GP10 for the following indications: Disease related malnutriton, malabsorption states, or other conditions requiring fortification with a fat / carbohydrate supplement.
All prescriptions must be endorsed ACBS (Advisory Committee on Borderline Substances).

Dosage

To prepare one serving of Calshake®, add the contents of one sachet to 240ml whole milk. Mix vigorously with a whisk or fork.
Dosage should be calculated by a clinician or dietitian according to individual requirements.
Each serving of Calshake® (one sachet plus 240ml whole milk) will provide approximately 600kcal and 12g protein.

To be used under medical supervision.
Not suitable for infants under one year of age

Points of recommendation

Store unopened sachets in a cool, dry place. Once reconstituted, Calshake® can be stored for up to 24 hours in a refrigerator.
